Nice model. I have built several of these in the past.

It's OK, but I've had better reversing units.
I've had several reversing units before, all of which used a diode at each end of the track. They require you to cut a gap in one rail at each end of the track and then solder a diode in place. Then, there is usually the laborious task of making various adjustments. It can be very frustrating. The Bachmann unit should be easy in that it only requires you to put the track in place, plug in the control unit and electricity, and it should work as intended. Unfortunately, it's not that easy. First of all, you must use Bachmann sectional track. However, this is not regular Bachmann track. It has contacts both on the top and on the bottom. It is very easy to get the contacts misaligned and may take several tries to get it right. If two of the contacts on the bottom doe not line up, the whole system will not work. Once you finally get the system working, I'd it an "OK" at best. You can control the speed of the loco or trolley but not the delay time at each end. Finally, let me point out that mine is n-scale. Larger scales might be easier to work with.
