A Great Book that's Fun!
This book is filled with terrific detail, easy-to-follow explanations, and great humor. If you want to understand a variety of complicated things, give this book a read. For best results, allow plenty of time and good reading light. Every time I've picked it up, my mood has lightened as I've learned something.
This book explains, for example, exactly HOW a camera works by bending light, etc. It also explains how pencils work, how pens are constructed & work, the Periodic Table, trees, tectonic plates, helicopters, microwave ovens, elevators, and many other things.
Some books are designed to make you sound smarter. This book was written to actually explain these things to you, so you'll understand them, regardless of your age.
