As expected and solid product
An impressive array of features, these are solid products and work as expected. The variable power settings and clarity are excellent with optional narrow reception for urban use and wide band reception for rural use. While not lightweight they are not excessively heavy. Due to the significant number of features they are not exactly simple to use but they are not difficult unless you want them to be. The range is acceptable on a peak-to-peak level but would require repeaters to work valley-to-valley; fortunately they have a setting that you can use a repeater if needed which I will likely try in the future for hunting.
There are two issues that I found undesirable with these units. First is the battery design; the battery life is relatively low and these units require their specialized batteries. Units which accepted standardized rechargeable batteries would be a huge improvement since charging batteries on a daily basis is not feasible in rural settings and these will not hold out for a multi day trip. Perhaps designing a battery pack that accepted rechargeable/replaceable batteries? I would also love to see a download map with GPS mapping added but the only products I've found with that addition are the $300+ Garmin units.
Delivery time was very slow but that was made clear at the outset. At the price I'm very pleased.
