With my 5 gallon cans the kit worked with no leakage on 5 gallon refill
2 of 2 found this helpful I had to use my old cap with the spout as the threads were different however the new spout sealed well and does not spill. The spout will hold a bend as least long enough to provide a refill, I'm hoping the material will eventually hold a permanent bend and not crack it's not practical to hold a 5 gallon can and bend a flexible spout to the gas tank. The vent cap threads fit my old vent.
There are many older cans - I needed a replacement spout - this worked for me as described

Great tones and long lasting.
I bought the identical chime in 2007 - lasted 7 years in all weather - great tones,
