Rick Rubin and Billy Gibbons have created a ZZ TOP Masterpiece album.
In the history of rock and roll, ZZ TOP, the "Little Ole' Band From Texas," has maintained a presence for almost forty-five years- playing their Texas tongue-in-cheek blues rock as solidly now as in the beginning.
'La Futura' is a fitting statement by the band and producer Rick Rubin, that ZZ TOP has blossomed back fully to a rootsier, gutsier, ballsier tone that echoes from the 1970s. Every element of ZZ is nice and tight in the mix of every track on the album. Listening to this on vinyl is an experience all by itself. Heavy, 180g slabs that the listener has to listen to at 45 RPM! So one compact disc of 'La Futura' is two 33 1/3 LP records that need to be flipped regularly!
This is the band at a different peak in their career and worthy of purchase- especially on vinyl.....
