Seems to be 3rd Gen, but works fine with my 4th Gen 4K AppleTV.

One thing I should say is that it seems to be a 3rd Generation Remote...but it works fine with my 4th Gen 4K Apple TV. For the first 3-4 days, it needed to be recharged like every day...but now, it only goes down about 5% a day (could be more or less, though). So that is not bad at all. Very happy with it.
