    Excellent Quality 'Standard' Zoom
I have already owned Nikon's 18-70 and also have an 18-200 which is 'resident' on a D90, but the 16-85 is my preferred choice as a walkabout lens on my D300s. Despite this lens's reasonable cost, the quality of the images it takes came as very pleasant surprise - impressive sharpness and contrast and a pleasing rendition of colour tones at all aperture settings, but obviously things are at their best when you stop down to f/5.6 or f/8. There's a tendency amongst some to sneer at 'kit' lenses, but the 16-85 has gained some great reviews and is capable of truly superb images - the rest is up to the photographer .... ;-)

    Excellent Linear PSU
The QJ1863 is solidly built, and of course it is pretty heavy due to being a linear type PSU, but for me that is a plus point due to the fact that there is no discernible noise - it has been doing its job for some weeks now sat a few feet from a very sensitive HF receiver, and nothing heard. Yes, I wish it had an ammeter but in truth the unit works very well .. and very quietly.

A Smart and Well Built Wristwatch
As it is going to take a year or two to save enough to get my Seamaster serviced (£380!), I needed a reasonably priced watch to see me through and this smart looking Parnis will certainly do that. It is well made, and the exhibition back allows you to see that the movement also looks to be of quality construction, and its overall very smart looks belie the low price. Timekeeping? Well, a bit different to the Omega but I guess +28 secs per day ain't bad really. :)
