Must have upgrade for ALL Hot Springs or Watkins Mfg. Hot Tubs
2 of 2 found this helpful This kit is a HIGH QUALITY upgrade for the undersized relays on the Heater Control Board for most Hot Springs and Tiger River and Many other spas manufactured by Watkins Mfg.
The 20 amp undersized relays..(this kit comes with Heavy Duty 40 AMP relays) fail over time and will melt your wiring from the heater control board to the heater as they fail... potentially starting a fire...How do I know.??...upon routine inspection of my system I noticed the large white wire from relay #2 had turned black from overheating and was being "cooked" every time the heater turned on. I engaged the heater and the wire was so hot i couldn't tough it with my bare hands. I used my laser temp reader and got a reading of 227 degrees F. The culprit was the #2 relay was failing and arcing internally causing it to overheat. I ordered this kit and soldered all 3 relays AND rewired (wires come with kit) the board according to the instructions that come with the kit. It now runs cool (75 degrees F) and the heater works even faster than before because it is receiving all of the proper current. NOTE..VERY IMPORTANT....if you do not have the experience to desolder and resolder circuit boards then pay the extra amount to have it performed for you....seriously....this beats coming outside and seeing your Spa going up in flames. Note...Watking Mfg. now has an upgraded board replacement for $200 however I do not trust the Upgraded board much more than the original board that they said was OK to use from new. This kit solves the problem ONCE and FOR ALL....If my 40 yrs. of engineering experience has taught me anything it's this...There is NO SUBSTITUTE for quality....This kit is quality.....Thank you.

Fast easy fix except......
I had to remove the small blue ring at the bottom of the injector to get it to install into the injector housing....other than that it was excellent....runs perfect and does not stall after decelleration as it did before. My old injector Ohm reading was 5.5 ohms...this new rebuilt is 1 ohm...now correct.
