very good amplification for specific sound in an area without a lot of background noise. not a substitute for hearing aid.

the item was shipped in a flat envelope that was lined with bubble wrap. the carrier was usps. the envelope was run through some handling devise which crushed it into about six pieces and left some or the pieces protruding through the envelope. I could not repair or use the item.
