Knife good / blade protector ‘sucks air’
Initial ‘sense’ (balance in hand, how it felt slicing a tomato) is ‘nice’. Blade guard ‘sucks bad’ tho.....a cardboard sleeve that does not cover ‘the pointy end’. There was a bit of plastic that was on the ‘pointy end’. It’s more dangerous to try to put the thing on than to leave it off. The paper sleeve is a danger to the knife edge (in the drawer) and to an owner (is a loose fit). I was willing to ‘(pay the price’ for a good knife that will work well & last a long time. Give me a decent/good blade edge protector.

Sony SLV-D500P DVD Player/VCR Combo
Hooked the SLV-D500D DVD Player/VCR Comp up, turned it on. TV screen immediately showed two identical black/white images -- left / right images separated by a vertical black line area. I have another Sony DVD player bought several years ago which has worked fine for any movie played - good color, crisp image, functions like a Sony should. After the disappointment of the SLV-D500P unit, I switched back to 'my' Sony DVD player, TV immediately showed the one full screen excellent color image I am used to - plays fine. The SLV-D500P unit failed to perform after several tries. Very disappointing.

Making a good thing happen anyway
Did not fit... the screw that held the recoil mechanism in place would not come out... screw head stripped out at the Phillips screwdriver connection.... had to drill it out. Will try to use some of recoil mechanism parts.
