Nearly Impossible to install SAAB 9-5 front control arm bushings undamaged without this tool
Installed front bushings on SAAB 9-5 control arms with this set of tools. These bushings are nearly impossible to install undamaged without this tool. I lubed the bushings with Dawn dish soap, and pressed them through the tool to compress the bushings raised rubber end rings; the inside of the tool is a funnel. You will need something to hold the tool against the control arm; otherwise, it will pop up and allow the raised rubber rings to expand before they can be inserted into the control arm. I fashioned a clamp out of spring wire. Pics of bushing, clamp, and wire (avail. at home centers).

Works better than you might think
Tools like these seem to work, but often are clumsy to use. This tool, however, is easy to use; it fits perfectly and doesn't slip.

Exactly as described. Plug and play install.
1 of 1 found this helpful The unit I received is exactly as described -- a re-manufactured transaxle from AWTEC for my 2000 SAAB 9-5 2.3t wagon. I installed it with no electrical or mechanical modifications; all I had to do was add was 4 quarts of transmission fluid. Arrived undamaged on date promised. Operates like new -- smooth, quiet, and consistent.
