30 Days of Night: Dark Days
Some movies they just shouldn't make a sequel to and this was one of them. The movie was trying to work an old story into something new and it just didn't work. It seems Vampires just aren't anything to be afraid of anymore. I would have been just as happy not seeing the movie at all and I liked the first one so much better. It's difficult to put put new faces to old characters and it just doesn't work. I would stick to the seeing the first one and leave it at that.

    The Cold Moon
This being a Lincoln Rhyme novel pretty much says all that needs to be said. Deaver does an excellent job at giving credance to his characters. The bad guy is interesting and meticulous, and keeps the reader guessing. I really enjoyed the introduction of the new characters to Rhyme's group as well as having some of the old characters involved in the hunt for 'the bad guys'. There was less techinology language about the machines that help in the investigations, which allows for more of a human approach in the way of kinesics. Though there are some low spots in the story, they are few and far between, so the story keeps the readers interest and sent me to the internet to find out more about kinesics. This is a great read!

    Bram Stoker's Dracula
I really enjoyed the setting of the movie, it reminded me of the good old time classics. Gary Oldman does the most outstanding portrayal of the character Dracula. The only 'hokey' part is when he plays the beast, but even then he does an amazing job in regards to the feelings of the character he has to portray. Gary Oldman shows genuine depth and love for Mina and I never get tired of seeing him dressed as the prince or how he woos his lost-love-found-again in Mina. In a time where computer graphics have become such a part of film-making, it's nice to see good old fashioned acting and settings. I had seen this movie a couple of times, and wanted to own a copy of it but could never find it in the small town I live in so, where else to buy it other than ebay?
