Love the Cuisinart!
2 of 2 found this helpful My wife loves her 30+ year old Cuisinart! It's supposed to be made of durable polycarbonate (what bullet-proof 'glass' is made from), but it does degrade over time. It still develops cracks and latches are thin so they are eventually broken off. Thankfully, these parts are still available as used items so you don't have to purchase an entire new unit.
So is it durable? Sort of.
Is it well designed? Sort of. Thicker sections may have provided a longer life.
Is it easy to clean? Sort of. The manual says it's dishwasher safe, but I believe the heat of the dishwasher is detrimental to this particular plastic. Hand washing might be less destructive to the plastic than the dishwasher, but a busy person in the kitchen is going to have trouble completely cleaning and sanitizing this by hand.

A real timesaver
A much cleaner way to set up the PA system. Eliminates a bunch of extension cords. Less cord mess.

Great value!
I had to remove a few conduit couplings and cover the holes on the top, but otherwise the housing was serviceable. Worth the effort.
