STARGATE: ULTIMATE EDITION - Blu-ray - NEW ITEM

Best picture & sound quality version so far with some worthwhile additional material.

Before purchasing the Region B Bluray version of this movie I did a little online research to see what if any improvements had been made over the DVD Ultimate Edition that I already own. There are several sites comparing different versions and I was pleased to see the improvements in colour palette, black levels and reduced grain that the 2oth anniversary edition had as well as a more dynamic & punchy DTS HD sound track. It was also a wonderful surprise to find the film artifacts have been eliminated entirely from this "Ultimate Edition" Bluray version If you want this movie in your collection this is the must have version.

Does exactly what it says it will & does it well.

Controls and connections are clearly labelled and well thought out except conventionally with power switches down is on NOT up. The blue LED power light is a little bright and distracting but should be easy enough to make dimmer. Very easy to connect to existing HiFi equipment & easy to adjust to the correct line-out signal level. Has plenty of signal level boost. Some basic instructions including specifications would be nice and I wasn't able to find any useful specs online. After reading about the background audio hiss reported by reviews on the valve version of this device I was a little sceptical of it's claim to HiFi status, however I was not able to hear any hiss or introduced noise of any type & saw no measurable noise down to -100dB on my spectrum analyser. All in all a well made & very useful audio device.
