Solid built Blackberry but has a serious flaw

The 8700G was my next BB after the 7290. By comparison it had a nice chunky feel and better screen and keyboard. During its life the BB software was upgraded to handle HTML so the screens appeared even better then. Battery life is very good (many days) but I extended mine even further with a thicker battery and back cover bought on ebay. The serious flaw is that the mouse wheel (which many users like more than the new BB mouse pads) breaks after a while. With very heavy daily use of emails my first 8700G mouse wheel gave up within warranty, the warranty replacement 8700G gave up after a similar period with the same fault - but they would not provide a replacement this time. This flaw is the reason I needed to buy a used 8700G on ebay, but at the price I bought it (about £20) if it only lasts a year, or acts just as a spare to a newer model (always keep a spare, I've used mine multiple times) then the £20 would be well worth it.

Nice easy to use PVR

Likes: 2 tuners allow dual recordings. Remote controls almost any TV too Not so good: Sometimes jams up, but can usually be powered down / up to clear this We've bought multiple of these through the family, as even an 80 year old can use it!
