Atlas N scale switch motor is reliable and simple to install.
My N scale switch motor I had was purchased in 1989 and has been very reliable and fun to operate. Recently I burned the old unit out due to my carelessness. I ordered a new part and was pleasantly surprised to find that exchanging the bad motor was easy with only having to remove two screws and soldering three wires. Now everything works like new again.

Lionel 6-9158 PC shovel car
Nice colorful Lionel flat car with a shovel load. The shovel load looks very similar to the Lionel postwar shovel load minus the P&H graphics of the original.

Substitute modern parts if you have the Lionel 155 signal.
Item did not work correctly upon receipt. Even when you receive a good unit, they can be finicky. Better to substitute modern flasher unit and electronic bell in the Lionel 155 to make it work well and with less maintenance requirements. Lionel only had the 155 signal offered for a short time, maybe that is why as there were problems with it.
