I love this stuff. Cleans well, not harsh, rinses out well.
I have been using this shampoo for years. It was my replacement for the original Nexxus Assure shampoo, which was sold off and became "general retail"--available at Costco and Walmart (versus "salon sales only"). (I had to choose another shampoo because the general retail version of Assure was a whole different formulation--to sum up, unacceptable.) That said, I was directed to this salon shampoo Hydruss; it met all my parameters: no coconut/palm smell at all, no heavy/thick/spicy perfume, good for oily hair, not harsh, rinses out easily, feels good, no heavy residue, no build up. In short, excellent for me. I have long hair, naturally curly, so I have to use a conditioner to detangle, but with shorter hair, I believe detangling would not be needed with this shampoo. I have never had a problem with build-up. I can't swear there isn't any on a molecular level, but I have never seen signs of it in my own hair. I use this product with Nexxus PhytoOrganics Hydraide conditioner. Now for the bad: For a number of years, I have been unable to find either product anywhere in salons or wholesalers in my state, so I buy online. From one salon that had a huge sale on it long ago, they suspected it was being discontinued, their own franchise wouldn't be buying anymore, and of course my own stylist could no longer get it for me either; so I don't know if it is even being manufactured anymore. I assume I am buying "new old stock" when I buy online or anywhere else at this point. I could be wrong, but when I finally got a hold of a Nexxus distributor by phone 4 years ago, even he couldn't get me any "regionally", meaning his half of my state. So there you go. Great product, hard to buy. Use it judiciously to make it last as long as possible.
