Great lab for the price!

I purchased this lab just over a year ago in anticipation of going back to school for a network management major. The two Catalyst 2900 series switches are the same type we have in our school's lab. The 2800 series routers are actually a step or two up. My routers came with VWIC2 multiflex trunk voice/wan cards for voice and data. I'm a networking noob and it took me a couple of hours to research how to configure the cards. It was a great learning experience but I don't want to have to configure them every time I decide to lab. So I purchased some inexpensive WIC asynch/synch WAN interface cards and serial cables. I will use the VWIC cards later after I purchase a couple of phones. I purchased a USB console cable. The console cable that came with my lab would not work with my laptop, because there is no serial cable connection on my laptop. I bought a 12 foot cable. The extra length is nice to have. I also purchased extra cables so I can connect computers to the routers and switches. Everything that came with the lab was too short for how I am set up. The rack will barely hold all 6 pieces (3 routers and 3 switches), and if you have an extra switch or router, forget it. I may purchase a second rack, since they are quite inexpensive, and set them side by side. Or I may spend extra and purchase a mobile rack with castors so I can wheel it around. Currently I am using an old sturdy coffee table. I've only looked at the DVD once. It has lots of info/projects on it. Thinking about it now, I should have looked there for configuring the VWIC cards. All in all, this is a great lab for the price. The routers and switches alone are well worth it. I would highly recommend to others.
