Excellent RX ant
1 of 1 found this helpful I have bought this ant for myself after seeing another radio amateur show it. The only drawback I had at that time was that the BNC thread was made of plastic and would not make a ground contact if using an antenna mount that is grounded. The one I received had a BNC with metal threads and would make it possible to ground it through an antenna mount. Also it will provide more mechanical resistance to over tightening the fastening nut.

Good quality but not working for VX8-DR/DE
Not working on VX8-DR/DE type transceiver, not sure if VX-8 in description covers all models. Only ground and Pin1 is terminated on plug if used on VX8-DR/DE. Can be rewired in the case but since speaker pin 3 is not terminated you have to get a new CT-M11 cable and wire it yourself. The plug is filled with plastic so resoldering pins is not an option.
After measuring the board while toggling RTS it seems PTT was not wired to the radio cable at all.
It also does not look like it is built for Mic/PTT line with capacitor and 2kOhm resistor as described in manual for VX8-DR/DE.
It's solidly built and with some more documentation on the PCB and cable carrying all pins or access for rewiring plug it would be much better than EasyDigi or similar interfaces where you have to build case and cables yourself.
