Great Compact Rifle Light w/Excellent Ergonomics
The Streamlight TLR RM2 is a direct competitor to the Inforce WMLx but w/o the shortcomings.
1,000 lumens + 10K candelas = more floody, less spotty w/o a really defined center hotspot, so great peripheral situational awareness at the cost of throw. My limited night testing indicates good target detail to at least 50+yds.
Body is all aluminum so little fear of breakage (as I've experienced w/several WMLx's) and acts as a heatsink (the RM2's body will get warm after extended use).
Switch is very tactile & easy to use w/the extended shelf behind it perfect for resting a thumb w/o activating the light. Choosing between constant-on & momentary-on is easy & intuitive. There is a strobe feature but I haven't used it.
Lock-out is great to avoid draining batteries when not in use, just rotate the bezel 90 degrees.
I don't use the remote switch, but seems the same as other good Streamlight remote switches I've used in the past. Plenty of attachment accessories are included for the remote switch.
Although the Streamlight manual only mentions CR123 batteries, others have stated it works w/16650 rechargeable batteries as well.
Minus the remote switch, weight is surprisingly light at 4.5oz.
If ergonomics & compactness are more important than maximum throw (if you want more throw, check out the Streamlight HL-X or their HP series) then definitely give the RM2 careful consideration.

Excellent Budget Trigger Upgrade
For those of us looking for a better AR trigger w/o spending hundreds of $$$, the Hiperfire EDT is exactly what the doctor ordered. Trigger has a single-stage user-selectable pull weight of 4.5 or 5.5lbs, depending upon which included hammer spring you use yet still has a full-power hammer strike so no fear of light-strikes.
Installation is very easy, the included complete instructions make it even easier.
I now have EDT's in all my AR's and no problems to date after several thousand rds and a couple of classes. Several others who've tried one of my EDT's now have EDT's in their AR's as well.
Overall, unless you really need a competition-grade ultralight trigger (and are willing to pay for it), IMHO there's nothing to compete w/the EDT in its price range.
It's no much more than the polished mil-spec triggers but the trigger pull is much better and equal to triggers cost over 2x as much.
You simply cannot go wrong w/the Hiperfire EDT!

Not A Surefire, But Good Quality On A Budget
4 of 4 found this helpful I've owned numerous WML's including Surefire's flagship M600 Ultra. However, I don't jump out of helicopters for a living and so don't need anything excessively bombproof, just reasonably rugged & durable.
Enter the Streamlight ProTac Rail Mount 1 & 2. The RM-2 looks to be a direct competitor to the aforementioned Surefire M600U, but the smaller RM-1 is what caught my eye, what with being reasonably bright, smaller, lighter & capable of taking AA's in a pinch if CR123's aren't available (at the cost of 150 lumen output vice 350 lumens w/CR123's). Being able to fit all aftermarket Surefire M300/M600 mounts is icing on the cake.
Yes, it's made in China, but China is capable of making excellent lights. No, the electronics aren't potted, but then neither are Surefire's.
Hotspot is tight & bright, peripheral spill is good but not as full as M600U. Tailcap switch has a good combination of easy to press/activate for momentary-on w/a decent depth before activating constant-on.
The included remote tapeswitch & replacement remote tailcap look good (I don't use them), but obviously aren't as rugged as Surefire's offerings (but at 1/4 the price, I don't expect them to be) although having both momentary and constant-on switches on the pad is great. One should exercise care when deciding on how to mount both the light and remote tapeswitch since the cable isn't detachable from the tailcap and so either the body of the light or the tapeswitch has to be free to unscrew the tailcap to change batteries w/o damaging the cable.
10-Tap feature worked perfectly to allow me to select my preferred High-Only mode (High/Strobe & High/Low are the other available modes) and prevents accidental mode switching due to the number of quick taps needed for a deliberate change.
My RM-1 mounted perfectly on a Magpul MOE Scout Mount, exactly as an M300/M600 would w/the button perfectly placed for activation w/the support hand thumb.
My only very minor complaint to date is the O-ring that seals the tailcap to the body seems a touch flimsy. No big deal, tougher O-rings are cheap at your local hardware store.
For appx $100 you get a lot of light w/accessories that would cost you a lot more if purchasing Surefire accessories.
Great performance & value for your money, I give it 5 stars.
