My street rod charges better than ever

My 34 Ford street rod was built more than 20 years ago and still had the old style alternator with external regulator with the output never any higher than 12.75 volts and when I would turn on the headlights they were very dim. I wanted to get a good quality single wire alternator . I wanted quality and didn't care about chrome . I installed the the Tuff Stuff alternator and ran a 6 ga. wire straight to the battery and now it charges at around 14 volts and the headlight are bright enough i can drive at night
