Love the wi-fi, but miss disc-enabling
2 of 2 found this helpful First, I'll warn you my review is biased. I am very much a Mac snob...never owned a Windows machine. I bought the iPod Touch recently to replace an older iPod (which still works fine, by the way) because I wanted to have wi-fi access, a calendar (a very big deal for me as a musician booking gigs), plus typical iPod usage. Overall, a fine piece of technology. My only gripe, and what keeps me from rating it as excellent, is that unlike older iPod models, the unit does NOT mount as an external hard drive. This was a HUGE disappointment and a mistake on Apple's part, IMHO. I do graphic design for a living and use the older iPod daily to move files between home and work. Yes, there are 3rd party apps out there that will get it to do file transfers, but it's a hassle, nowhere near the same. Hopefully Apple will make an update for disc-enabling soon.
