IF YOU LIKED LOTR, BUY IT
1 of 1 found this helpful After the first 3 LOTR movies, I thought this may be disappointing. PJ uses a lot of the same filming techniques he used in LOTR and this works well. I never read the Hobbit so I can't say if the storyline is true to the book. But discovering how the characters and situations formed to become the LOTR was the dominant point of interest for me. Although PJ seems to push this formation somewhat. It's nice that the same actors/actresses are used for continuity sake. Overall I liked the movie and would have to say it DID NOT disappoint. I will buy the next 2 installments.

CG version just as good as the animated version
If you liked 'Charlotte's Web' the book and the 1973 animated movie...then you'll like this. It follows the story line very closely. Their casting of Steve Buscemis' voice, as Templeton, for Paul Lyndes voice fit perfectly. This is an all-star cast and they do a wonderful job.

Blue grass comedy...at it's best
1 of 1 found this helpful One of the funniest performances given by Clooney. The suppoting cast, Turturro and Nelson are perfect for the job. It's one of those movies that you have to listen to everything to catch all the humour (ie 'ma hair'). Or watch it several time to hear something you didn't hear the first time. The plot is kinda 'all over the place' but if you've listened very closely(especially to the blind man) you will realize how it all fits in. The real star of the movie is the music. Even if you don't like blue grass, you can't help liking 'the Man of Constant Sorrow". I really like this movie.
