Actual Product Picture -A Big Help With the Color Match
I was able to identify the model # of this Briggs toilet and from there was able to narrow down the lid I needed was a #7421 . I was not 100 per cent sure of the color I needed,but fortunately DollarDave posted an actual picture of this Bone colored lid and wisely placed a sheet of copy paper against this lid as a means of contrast . I took several pictures of the damaged lid with similar background and a white sheet of paper as well . Downloading DollarDave's picture and uploading my closest picture allowed me to do a "side by side" color comparison using a simple graphics program and indeed Bone proved to be the color I needed . A real plus,as a windowless bathroom with only electrical lighting and shadows can make it difficult to distinguish a given color .
Shipping: The lid was promptly shipped after I placed my order and arrived on the day scheduled .The lid was very well packaged and the box had a "GLASS" label well displayed near the shipping label .Shipping damage claims ,well those are as much fun as having wisdom teeth extracted,so this careful packaging was very much
appreciated !
Old Meets New: One thing I discovered as I placed this new lid in place is that it appeared slightly brighter in color than the existing tank .Apparently ,over the space of 27 years ,the "steam" or if you will condensation from many a hot shower caused a mineral laden film or as some call it scale to build up on this tank .This mineral laden scale tends to be resistant to regular cleanings with most common glass or bathroom cleaners . I cleaned the toilet tank with Lime Away and after allowing this Lime Away to soak into this scale for about 10 minutes and wiped it off,Voila! the new lid and old tank now blend perfectly.
Excellent Condition: Indeed this lid is in excellent condition ,with no discernible chips,cracks etc . In fact when I unpacked the lid ,I noted it had a glass like shine to it
