Films of Shirley Temple by Robert Jerk! Windeler Review

This book, the Films of Shirley Temple, does a decent job of detailing the films she made, in chronological order. However, it won't take the reader long to realize that the author, Robert Windeler, doesn't really care for his subject artist. His photo captions are full of snide remarks; he's constantly saying unflattering things about her; any opportunity for negativity is seized upon, even when there is no real call for it. Mr. Windeler apparently resents the little moppet's talent and success and he wastes no opportunity to belittle her. He theorizes, "she never made a single motion picture that anyone thought was really any good". Really?? All'n all, this author's book is quite off-putting. If all you want is an overview of Shirley's films, that you'll get, but I believe that you, too, will wish that it had been written by someone who actually liked her and appreciated her prodigious talent.

The brochure I received is like new. Certainly in much better condition than my original that I picked up when I bought the bike in '82! Very glad that I now have an almost mint one, suitable for framing and at a very good price, at that!
