    Stokes the Imagination
The illustrations in this book, while not always skillfully drawn, are varied, engaging and stoke the imagination. On top of that you get information about the beasties of Middle Earth. I saw an earlier version of this book when I was a teen and fell in love with many of the drawings. Now that I am older, I find the repetition of design elements in the stylized colored ink drawings somewhat off-putting. If you're a Tolkein fan this book should be in your library.

    Good Resource
This dictionary is fairly comprehensive, but the newest edition would probably be a better choice if you want to find the latest "green" building terms. If you are struggling with what to call "that thing hanging on that other thing," this dictionary can probably help you. The drawings are helpful and, in some instances, easier to understand than the text they acompany.

    Kooks and Spooks
This compilation looks at the evidence surrounding the existence of four "monsters" featured in popular movies and literature: the vampire, the werewolf, the killer shark, and a swamp-stalking apeman (not presented in that order). The segments are amusing, somewhat informative, and disturbing at times (like the vampire segment where a looney admits she drinks blood from people because it makes her feel "powerful"), but ultimately the evidence for the existence of the monsters in question is, not surprisingly, inconclusive. I've rated this DVD average because, well, it is. While interesting, there is nothing particularly "must see" here (at least for me).
