Blue Iris stands as a metaphor for the bouquet of beauty found in all forms of nature.
Blue Iris is Mary Oliver's tribute to nature that compliments her other books of poetry. Mary invites the reader to join her in fields of sunflowers with burnished disk faces constantly turning towards Helios.
She rests in a shadowed grove of black oaks becoming aware of: "the tonnage of their shoulders and shining green hair". Mary delights in touching the leaves of rice: "like feathers of egrets, only green". She explores her joy of peonies: "as the sun rises, stroking them with buttery fingers".
Mary Oliver asks the reader to consider: "What if you suddenly saw that the silver of water was more brilliant than the silver of money?". She guides us to the magic of the wren's song as well as the silent beauty of blossoms. The reader is lifted like the seven white butterflies on the wind by the rhythms and undulations of her free verse.

Powernumb the magic pain eraser.
Powernumb is easy to apply, covers a larger area than described. It does an effective job of numbing the skin surface for tattoo work. Lasts two to three hours. For larger tattoo pieces I would recommend breaking the sessions up to several three hour appointments. Compares to Dr. Numb for numbing properties.
