Covers a large selection with much historical detail.
16 or more castles covered including several Welsh built. Includes potted histories, often including English civil war activity as well as medieval details. Explains the reasons for building the castles on their sites. Good views of the survivng structures.
I have an interest in Welsh medieval history, being married to a half Welsh wife. I'm also a lifelong student of military history, especially the ancient & medieval.

Interesting, but often inaccurate.
This little booklet give a fair general outline of the sling, it's uses, & construction.
However, it's historical claims as to origins are wildly speculative(for example it claims the sling was invented c.10,000 years ago & pre-dated the bow; whereas the bow is widely aknowlaged to have been around at least 30,000 years).
The authors knowlage of the sling is obviously greater than that of his knowlage of the bow, so his comparisons between the two don't actually stand up.
Some of the "safety" tips are rather reckless & along with advice on combat, makes you wonder as to his ethics.
What is lacking is inclusion of woven or braided slings, which are not particularly difficult to make. (I knocked one up in an hour or so last night).
An interesting read, fairly useful, but frequently inaccurate & not necessarily responsibly written.

Dissapointing
As a keen student of history I thought this would give a good account of early Jutish/Danish history & a refreasing take on the Hamlet story, especially with such a rich cast. I was very dissappointed with the script & production. Even the royalty & nobility were clothed like peasants. The whole thing seemed more of a cheap tv production for kids tv. A big yawn is the best I can give it.
