Great tone
I bought my last acoustic guitar some years ago, and the guy recommended these strings. I bought a set, and have never bought any other brand. The tone is crisp and clear. Good lows, biting highs. Nice and warm overall. They seem to last longer and resist corrosion than other brands I have used before these. I highly recommend them.

Works well as a clean boost for clean channels, and adding pre-amp gain to tube amps
I bought this because I wanted clean boost for my guitar solos. You have to tweak the bass EQ knob so you are not getting any cut or boost on the low frequencies (even at 12:00, you get the slightest coloring on the lower notes - but it's not noticeable unless you are playing by yourself in a quiet room and trying to hear it) and the gain knob to get your volume increase just right so you aren't drowning out other instruments. Overall, it colors the tone slightly, but I consider it a positive trait.
But the added bonus, because it loads up the pre-amp tubes in a tube amp (my class A 5w), is delicious tube saturation. It has much nicer tone to it than my external Presonus Tube Pre per-amp, even though they do the same thing. It delivers some juicy overtones to a tube amp, without losing definition (like you would with a hi gain, heavy metal sound).
The bypass on this is a true bypass, much better than the Electro-Harmonix Nano LPB (I bought one of those, and absolutely detested the bypass, it sucked the volume way down to where I couldn't hear it). It is so quiet, and the button switch is so smooth, I can never tell if it is on (other than the change in tone. volume and the red LED :o) It makes no audible click when engaging.
I highly recommend this pedal, whether you have a solid-state transistor amp, or a tube amp. It runs on a 9v battery (two screws hold on the rubber cover). It has a jack for external power 9v positive ring, 20mA (anything rated with more power will work without damaging it - the pedal will only draw the current it needs).

This is my second unit
If you have sore muscles, back spasms, knots in your scapula, this is for you. It comes with two pairs of stick on patches and two pairs of leads, so you can massage two muscles at once, or two people can each massage one muscle.
Can't beat it for the price. And this speeds up recovery time after workouts too. The battery will give you about 5 hours on a setting of 3-4.
