OK, but you might be the kind that wants to see photos of cooking dishes this book does not have
The book covers many German cooking dishes however is lacking in showing those dishes in photos.

OK, but could be better.
I have read this book and if this book is purchased used and cheap then it might be worth purchasing, as with any book, you might find a nugget or two of wisdom that works for you. However, I am not an expert on the Amish, so I found somethings to be odd, in which it seems that allot of this information includes those not living an Amish lifestyle as I understand it. For example telling someone to use a microwave oven to heat honey up that has crystalized, which now destroys the benefits of the honey, instead of just putting it in some hot water in a pan. Then there are things like making laundry soap, where adding Wisk or some other store bought liquid soap is a major ingredient ? So, you will find that this book recommends way too many modern store bought ingredients if you are the type of person wanting to get away from that kind of thing. If you are a homesteader who wants to be more informed, then I recommend buying a few books to add to your collection that are subject or project specific and are of the do from complete scratch kind.
