Overpriced, extremely fragil.. and poor design
2 of 2 found this helpful Item was purchased to consolidate remotes. It does do that BUT you will spend a lot of time trying to set up each remote, unlike most remotes where you enter a code for the device, this remote forces you to go through the trial and error for every RCA or every Sony or every Toshiba TV or whatever until you find one that turns the TV or DVD player on or off.. you then have to make sure that all the function work and if they don't you have to use the existing remote and let the new remote learn from the old one. Okay now once you have done all this the remote will work.
Unfortunately there is a light colored rim around the main jog button on the remote. This wheel is what you have to use to move from TV to DVD to whatever... simple enough, except that the little colored rim is extremely sensitive and simply pressing the job button inside it can be enough for it to switch from TV to DVD and then you end up turning on or off the wrong thing... so that doesn't work well.
Now the biggest problem is it is extremely heavy and extremely fragile... not what you look for in a remote that will eventually be knocked off the table. That happend to my remote less than 5 months after I got it. If tell no more than 18 inches from the table to the floor... the result was the LCD panel inside the remote cracked. The remote still works but you can no longer tell what device it is set to because the LCD panel where it is supposed to say TV or DVD or Audio is now just a bright blob of light.
So if you can be certain that you will never ever ever drop this remote it might work for you... but as soon as it fall be warned it will break faster than an egg on a brick.

Perfect for what it is.

Now if you want the fastest lens possible for your nikon without selling your first-born, this lens is the one to get. I have heard complaints about it being soft and lacking contrast. I haven't had those problems, I will say that it is manual focus and you have to have your focus dead on if you shoot wide open. If you're off a little in the focus you'll see it big time when you print. As for the contrast problems I've heard of, pick the right film.
This lens is perfect for portrait work where you want a very limited depth of field. It's also perfect for low light work. I find myself using it more than I do any other lens even though it isn't auto focus. You wont find a faster lens for a nikon at a more reasonable price (actually you wont find a faster lens just a more expensive one if you want the noc version).
