Inexpensive and Easy Stereo Mic
When they made this mic it was about $300.00 brand new. In published comparisons with far more expensive stereo microphones, it fared very favorably - not just "good for an inexpensive mic" - it outscored the other mics in blind tests. I have used this mic for many years on a variety of projects in my independent recording business and I bought this one as a backup or replacement for the one I've used for years. This "new" one, though, is in such great condition, it actually sounds a little better than my "old reliable", so I'll be using this one going forward.
This mic is a lot of bang for the buck. Plus, it is small, lightweight, and easy to maneuver. If you need to place the mic high, you can elevate your mic stand as high as it will go and not worry about its moving due to the weight of the mic. It's a "point and shoot", so you don't have to concern yourself with angles for proper placement. Just aim at the center of your sound source and, voilá, instant stereo sound. It holds up well in mono. You can operate it off a battery if phantom power is not available. There are so many positives about this mic even before you look at the price. The only negative thing I can say about the mic is that it is fairly low output, which means you have to crank your preamps a bit.
