How good intentions can go wrong
I was a little worried from some of the reviews I'd read, that it might look too closely what we're witnessing in our country in real time. I was happy to find out that it is more about how a poor southern family dealt with the " new civil war " and it's consequences rather than just a war story. The story basically covers the U.S.A from 2055 forward about 50 years. The seceding states are just the very southeast minus Florida, which is underwater. The reason for the split is over the use of gasoline, and the pandemic isn't flu like, that helped. I found it to be interesting and the characters to be well developed.
