Borla Touring Cat-Back Exhaust 2017 Mustang GT
I weighed the stock Cat-Back after removal, 70.4 lbs. The Borla Touring Cat-Back weighed 49.4 lbs. So, net weight saving was 21.0 lbs. (I did the Sound Tube Delete at the same time, for a weight savings of 1.2 lbs. And less artificial engine noise into cab.)
I chose the Borla "Touring" system because it was said to be one of the least loud. I wanted free-flowing exhaust for performance gains, but I do not want any more extra noise if it can be avoided. This system has a mid resonator, claimed to reduce harmonic resonance at various RPM levels - smaller and lighter than the stock OEM mid-resonator. The twin rear mufflers are straight through with packing. The butt dyno says noticably more torque and power; snappier acceleration. Next step will be the Ford Performance 2015-2017 Mustang GT Power Pack 2 w/ Intake, 87MM TB, Tune - to open up the intake flow, and tune the engine ignition computer at all three levels (normal, sport, track).
Even though one of the quietest free-flow exhausts, it's still louder than I like in the cab, so I'm sound-deadening the interior; beginning with the trunk, wheel wells, and under the back seat. I'm now maybe 25% done with that and already it's as quiet as stock inside - except when on it and WOT. Yes, this adds some weight but worth it for me, in this daily driver.
I had an exhaust shop install it. Tech complimented the Borla Touring Exhaust system as a quality set - quality work that fit together perfectly.
