the ATI Radeon HD 5670
1 of 2 found this helpful XFX is a pretty well known brand in the graphics cards market. that being said i had pretty good expectations for this card when i bought it. however this is still a budget card, so if you are looking for something that will power any game on the highest settings you will be disappointed. what this card was designed for was for use as a High-Def movie watching on your TV (through windows media center or through the HDMI port), work uses that require multiple screens and or display projections and lighter gaming. for watching blue ray movies on your TV it is excellent and you will see little to no difference in performance between this and much higher cards on any tv less than 60 inches (approximately 155 cm). i was never able to make use of the Eyefinity (multiple screen displays) but from what i have seen from other people who had this would be just fine for work that would require such things... as long as your not trying to play a separate blue ray on each. gaming however is where this card really surprises. normally a card in this price range isn't good for much beyond online flash games and and older games on their higher setings. however this one seems to keep up on newer games even on their higher settings. for example i played Starcraft 2 and even the highest settings saw no lagging or graphical anomalies. whats more is that most of the XBOX 360 ports (games which started off on the XBOX 360 and were later transferred to windows) seemed to play flawlessly on either the highest or slightly lowered settings, which is very impressive for a card in this price range. however before you buy this card if you want to play much more taxing games such as Far Cry 2 or Crysis, you will be disappointed, but to be fair most of the cards that will play games like these on their highest settings are 3-4 times the price of this on. it doesn't have the power to play them smoothly o any but the lowest possible setting, and even then some lag may be seen. The crossfire ability is nice if you have a second PCIex16 slot in your computer, however once again this card is not designed for heavy gaming, so while you will see an improvement, it still probably wont let you play some of the more taxing games on their highest settings. also this cards is practically silent, in fact the PUS and CPU fans make much more noise than this card, so you wont have to worry about being bothered by this card during play or work. Finally any time you add something to your computer you increase the amount of power it draws from the PSU. in this case it's only a meager 65 watts, which is next to nothing for a graphics card.
over all for the money this is a good card. great for work and good for play. at the listed price it's probably best for the home PC (especially if its hooked up to a tv or windows media Center) or your kids PC, however not for a but not so much for a heavy gaming rig.

Arrived and works in my bugzapper. Well worth the money to have it working again and even to keep a spare bulb around

The last good microsoft office before they butchered their programs
This is the last version of Microsoft office that is actually good. The ribbon system they moved to is just awful. The old system in 2003 was simple, clean, customizable and efficient. The ribbon abomination is none of the above. In the 2003 system you have a few menus, some small icons for commonly used options, and a good open screen. Office 2003 was the last in a line of great office programs. All that followed was and remains garbage.
The idea of a user interface was so that we could get more work done with less grief. That’s kind of the opposite of the Ribbons that came in more modern and trashy versions. blatant disregard for having a consistent UI is what 2007 and beyond get you. And by the way in word processors alot of people use both keyboards as well as my mouse. The ribbons in the modern versions are huge, blocky, non-customizable, is covers too much of the screen. Things commonly used cannot be placed in familiar or better locations. You cannot get rid of the things you never use, or hide them in menus. the Ribbon gets in the way of all of our former ways of getting the job done, but is less efficient and more time consuming to use after you get ‘expert’ with it!
Stick with 2003 and before. You'll be far happier if you do.
