HTC G1 (T-Mobile) why I like this phone vs Moto Cliq
The G1 sports a full "QWERTY" keyboard, you can run alternate web browsers that allow you to stream video to the phone (not able to do so on the Cliq)G1 weighs less, it has lass battery and talk time than the Moto Cliq but the standby time is greater, slightly larger screen, and with update to cupcake the G1 can record video too. HTML on the G1 vs the horrible Android HTML Webkit on the Cliq, and my personal favorite is the PC Synchronization that you can link up to with the G1... still not available on Cliq. OK so the cliq has "Moto Blur" so what I have rooted my G1 to run this OS and to be honest its a waste of time to do that. If you are a teenager who HAS to know whats going on with MY-TWITTER-FRIENDY-BOOK-PAGE then you might like owning a Cliq, I on the other hand do not subscribe to teenage wannabe networking sites. OK now for the memory... the G1 comes with 512MB of built-in memory with microSD card expansion of up to 32 GB. On the other hand the Motorola CLIQ has 256 MB of built-in memory with microSD card expansion of up to 32 GB so they are no where close to equal there not to mention who wants to own a ROOTED cliq where you need to carry the microSD card in order to run the rooted OS?!?! Lost or stolen? So what if the cliq user interface stores and backs up contacts, messages and log-in information on a secure server so a users can quickly retrieve, or erase, data remotely? If you are the type of person who looses their $250 phone all that often then maybe you should consider buying a Samsung Gravity 2 or a Samsung Highlight (you can replace them with a prepaid version if you keep loosing your personal communication device.) With the current app on the Android market you can set up your G1 to ring loud with a certain text message, locate GPRS, and if you set a lock pattern to your phone (which you should do anyway)then no one can access your goodies in the phone and will either return the phone, sell it on Craigs-list, or part it out. Again if you are worried about this I'm sure a Samsung Gravity 2 or a Samsung Highlight will be a perfect fit for your forgetful self. Of course this is all just one persons opinion based on facts and I DO own both phones and want to punch myself in the head for buying into the hype and not only paying for a cliq but also extending my T-mobile contract to get a "Better price" when I should have just bought a G1 in the first place on eBay
