This replacement stylus for the Pickering V-series and XV-series magnetic cartridges is a definite solid performer. It installs into the cartridge with ease and the performance in playing back 78 RPM records is flawless. You should adjust your tracking force upward to about 3 grams (I generally track 78 RPM records at 3.5 grams) for good playback fidelity, and to minimize skips.
You should make sure to keep your records clean, and to clean them prior to playing, as any dust and dirt in the record groove will foul the stylus, and then you will have to clean the stylus. I use a simple microfiber cloth with distilled water in a spray bottle for record cleaning, and I use a Q-Tip moistened with denatured alcohol for the stylus cleaning.
VTG General Electric Automatic Timer GE Model 8110A 1960's

A MUST-HAVE FOR HOME SECURITY AND CONVENIENCE
Manufactured in the heydays of the General Electric Company, these timers for lamps and small appliances were made to last. I have several of these throughout my house, along with a couple of newer ones by other manufacturers that I am going to "retire". These General Electric Automatic Timers, Model #8110A, are silent and reliable; they were made when quality and American-made pride were integral parts of the manufacturing process. They are more or less "heavy-duty", as they have a thicker cord to handle wattage up to 1800 watts (15 amps). I do not use anywhere near that capacity, as I use these in my living room and in other rooms where I want a table lamp to go on and off in the evening and nighttime.
These are a must-have for home security, and for convenience; they do not take hardly any electricity themselves to run, and when connected to a table lamp with either an incandescent or even an "energy-saving" light bulb, the power use is negligible, while adding safety for you and loved ones.
