A solid toy with questionable chromatic decisions, tolerance issues, and misassembly. Definitely deserved better.
0 of 1 found this helpful Victorion is the fan-voted combiner for Transformers Combiner Wars. She comes with custom combiner hands and feet, remolded parts on all but one of the six figures, an almost premium paint job, weapons that can combine into a huge sword, a collectors card, and a poster. The hands can also store inside the feet. I got her on sale for $50.
First off, The Pyra Magna figure is misassembled out of the box. There's a joint in the knee that prevents it from locking in place like its suppose to. Luckily for me the joint is tight enough that I don't need to lock it in place. There's a fix that involves cutting a tab inside the knee, but I'd rather not have to damage the toy, and disassembling to fix it is easier said than done, as it requires unscrewing, melting glue, and removing pins just to swap a piece around.
Aside from manufacturing issues, the figure is the same as Hot Spot. If you've owned these molds before you know what to expect. My one... well, two... well, three gripes is the choice of color, plastic, and molds for the set.
The fan-vote for the set asked for a mostly teal and red color scheme. What we got was a mostly red and oxidized green color scheme (think statue of liberty green). I am okay with this. She is rust-themed. But I can't help but feel the voters were lied to. (I did not participate in the vote, even though I wanted to, because it was only for a voting app and I didn't own a smartphone at the time.) What I don't understand is why Hasbro was so flippant with the colors the fans asked for, yet so FAITHFUL to those colors they decided to use, because Red, Green, and Gray are the ONLY colors any of the members seem to have. Because every member of the team is comprised of only three colors, they all lack individuality, which severely prevents me from being invested in the character. My headcanon for her alleviated some of this by having the Torchbearers be combiner fanatics who stay as Victorion permanently and painted themselves to match a unified identity, but I doubt this is good enough for the average person. The Japanese set Megatronia has more variety for its individual members, but that costs three times as much as I paid for this set. What I would give for a streak of color to each member to help break them up or give them some identity though.
Some of the parts also use clear blue plastic, such as the handle for the sword weapon. This is bad because clear plastic can't flex like opaque plastic can. As pretty as translucent plastic is to look at, that sword handle will snap off if it falls in the wrong way. I've already had a portion of the secondary handle snap off on me, and am terrified of actually having Victorion hold her own sword. Most of the plastic color is painted over anyway, so what is even the point besides giving Victorion a blue visor?
Finally, thanks to the fan vote shenanigans, the set comes with two of the helicopter mold. The lore is that Stormclash and Skyburst are twins, but I have three of this same mold already. They did remold the helicopter for the set, but they split the parts in between both of them. There have also been reports of sets that carry two Stormclashes or two Skybursts by mistake. Gee I wonder why?
That said, I can't argue that in the right pose Victorion looks absolutely imposing. I sometimes forget that she's Defensor with a different coat of paint, and the mold choice itself (save for a second helicopter) was not a bad choice. I jumped on the $50 deal out of impulse, and while I'm not disappointed with the set, I feel like a lot more polish could have been done, most of which starting at the drawing board, to make the Torchbearers a solid combiner team.

Not a knock-off!
Was a bit worried since it was coming from China, but it was the real thing. Only slightly overpriced for what you get.

it works! thank goodness I'm so relieved!
afaik, the part works perfectly. The screen had some weird rainbow distortion caused by the original part getting too old and breaking. I was able to fix the screen at the cost of keeping my laptop stationary, hence the need for the part. I've been able to freely move my laptop for a while now after replacing the part.
