Good for up to 10 uses
I've never had much issues with X-10 switches, but the outlets are horrible. I used these to control a Fiberstar light long enough for the house to close escrow for the seller. The outlet that controlled the color wheel went out within the first 3 times of turning it off and on. Once I felt it would last for the final walk through, I was called out for a complete replacement of both. Upon close of escrow, I got the light to work, but it took 2 to get the color wheel to work again. A week later the buyer called because both quit working. Sorry, warranty doesn't pass when a home sells. Arizona state law. Once I explained the constant issue with these switches, the buyer was fine with me drilling 2 holes and using toggle switches. Never again will I replace X-10 outlets. If someone wants their Fiberstar tower to work, I will use my drill and add toggles.
When I was at the Home Depot, I was with another technician who had a similar problem controlling a pool light. The staff member at the Home Depot said they quit carrying these around 10 years ago due to the failure rate. Figures!

Hayward finally made a good pump!
For years Hayward has manufactured job security for the industry by producing crap. This is the first pump in seen hold up. With this I can actually walk away proud of what I installed for my customer. This was the first item Hayward has produce to where I was able to do that.
With the new law on variable speed pumps, this is under 1 HP making it legal to install but has a service factor of 1.85. This makes if almost as powerful as a 1 HP.
