My Favorite Board Game!
I love complex strategy games, and I also love coop games. Spirit Island combines the best of both those worlds. Right now, I'd have to say this is my all time favorite board game. It has amazing replay value and tons of variants and difficulty levels to keep it interesting. I always describe it to my friends as "reverse Settlers of Catan." You are the Island trying to fight off the settlers. Fun for hours but very complex.

Strategic, Entertaining, and Durable
This is a fun game, especially if you can amass a large collection of figurines to create cool squads. Basically both players build their own squads from the figurines they own, and then go head to head in some epic battles. Each figurine comes with its own stat card that shows general game info and how much it costs to include in your squad. It reminds me of a trading card game, except you are collecting and trading mini figurines which are very durable and very cool looking. If you ever end up with a bent figurine, place it in bowling water for a few seconds until it straitens out and then using a tool transfer it into ice cold water. It'll harden back into place. And Voila, the figure is no longer bent. I gave the game a 4 star rating, because while I do enjoy complicated games, this one just felt a little overwhelming at times. I'm not sure how, but I feel like they could have designed a better combat system.
