Electric 2* - hand crank 5*.
2 of 4 found this helpful It's as good as any electric burr grinder and maybe better than most. They all seem to suffer from lots of fine dust in the finished grind and static cling in the plastic cup.I sift the dust through a fine strainer and save it to season my sauces and such so all is not lost. The whole process seems to be so loud and frantic! I collect old wooden hand crank grinders and nothing modern is even close to the slow hand grind and drop through into a wooden drawer of those machines. They also look so much better and use up much less counter space. Bottom line is in this case, the grinder is great at what it does, but nothing electric that I've tried comes even close to to the quality of grind and experience of an antique hand grinder. They are not difficult to find and all of mine cost about the same as an electric. Do yourself a favor and consider an old hand crank grinder.

Not a Toy!
3 of 3 found this helpful Very heavy duty machine. This is not a child's toy! Build is solid but with the usual mediocre Chinese welds. I was very impressed with the disc brakes on all three wheels. That's the good. For me, the bad includes a battery pack that's not impressive. This resulted in marginal performance and short battery life. The most glaring design oversight is the lack of a trailer hitch. I would think this would be an obvious need for a unit inteded for work. I look at this machine as a solid platform for modifications. I built my own hitch for little cost. That makes it a much more versitile machine. The major cost upgrade I did was to replace the stock battery pack with a li-ion battery rated for 2,000 watts. Everything about the power, speed and battery life improved. It's a mod that's well worth the cost.. The last drawback is that it has a very short overall length. This leave very little foom on the deck but it does decrease the turn radius. Bottom line is that it it's a good machine at a fair price but be prepaired to do a little mod work.
