More effective than digital white noise
3 of 3 found this helpful The Dohm is the closest thing I've found to recreating the sound of an actual fan or heater without altering the temperature of the room. I find it way more effective than white noise apps or "machines" that use a digital loop. Those digital tracks don't have the same low-end pitch that an actual motor has; the frequencies are too high, and my brain also detects the loop point, and all of that just keeps me awake. The Dohm is better in those respects. It's not perfect—it still lacks the low hum of an actual fan motor and has more of an echoey whooshing sound. Sounds nitpicky, but if you're an audiophile and/or a light sleeper, these details matter :) I've gotten used to its particular sound; now the only problem is that I have hard time sleeping without it.

loud & clunky
The click is loud and clunky. You can change it to click on tap, but then I end up accidentally clicking when I'm just trying to select something. I recommend skipping this first model and going for a later one.
