EXCELLENT FOR THE PRICE
Feels good and has a quality appearance, I have had it about a week and the remote has done all the basic commands without any problems, it was really cheap to buy with free postage that took about a week to arrive but that's fine, there is a real feel good factor in replacing a lost remote especially when it ticks so many boxes like this one does.

Painting metallic finishes on miniature model figures
Having not painted a figure for about 20 years, I found a new interest in the hobby and embarked on trying my hand at painting a resin bust of a Spartan, the subject involved painting bronze armour, I had bought and tried a whole range of metallic paints that had been featured on Youtube and in magazines and non of these worked leaving me wondering why the hobby had not moved on in 20 years and produced a good system for metallics, however after having spent about £40 on other products I decided to give the AK Tubes a go and I can say that out of all the metallics that I have tried these where the best.
They mix with oil paints to give you darker shades for shadows
They dont produce a mass of sparkles that cover all other areas of the figure
Generally I found them easy to control, I tend to dry brush these onto a dark acrylic undercoat.
I am happy with the results but I would say with further use these should improve.
I am now going to stock up with some other metallics from this range.
Just one thing once the paint leaves the tube it starts to dry so you will need to use some fresh paint during the stages of paint, dont be tempted to keep using the drying paint as you will get lumpy spots on your surface.

An absolute must for modelers
I am a model figure painter and I was looking for something to hold small parts while working with them and painting them so I started to search for a suitable Pin Vice and decided to take a chance and buy a couple of this one.
It is light weight but sturdy
It has a satin chrome type finish so its comfy to hold and wont rust, some of the steel type need to be plastered in WD40 that can easily get onto the model.
There are 4 different diameter size chucks that are cleverly stored inside the handle and each of these will adjust to hold a range of diameters.
If find that a half turn of the chuck nut will release the item so there is not struggling to remove it from the vice.
I normally drill a small hole in the item and jam a cocktail stick into the hole, the cocktail stick will then go into the chuck fairly deeply to give a good solid grip with no wobble, when momentarily finished painting I just set the pin vice into a small jar while I mix the next colour to be applied.
Summing up I have been using these now for several weeks and have no negative comments I have found them to be a great help and they are so cheap you just cant go wrong. I am going to get a few more of them.
