excellent shave, cheap to replace the blade, and no nonsense cleaning
2 of 2 found this helpful Actually right now I have a copy of the current big 3. Braun Ser.7 a Ser.9 and now the ARC 5. Comparing each I would place the ARC5 at the fastest shave. It has a massive head compared to both the Brauns and it covers a lot of real-estate with each pass. As far as comfort while shaving I'd say it feels about as smooth as my Braun Ser7 maybe a bit better but not by much. My face isn't particularly sensitive so most anything works well for me but the ARC5 is not as comfortable as the Braun Ser.9. The Main (and major) reason I really like the ARC5 is that it cleans up with soap and water. The Braun cleaning stations are just a pain (and so I rarely use them). BUT you still have to look at the "clean-me" "clean-me" "clean-me" light every time you turn it on. Bah! drives me nuts. The worst thing about the "clean-me" light is that it's just a gimmick. It doesn't measure anything (certainly not the condition of sanitation) it just comes on after you flip the razor on (period) What's that? A Gimmick! You don't have to put up with that nonsense with the ARC5. Do I kike my Brauns, you bet! Series 9 is a wonderful shave. Is the ARC 5 as good or better; maybe so, depends what your looking for in the razor. (and what you'll put up with) If I would only buy one razor I'd probably choose the ARC 5 only because it's an excellent shave, cheap to replace the blade, and no nonsense cleaning. That said I gravitate to my Braun Ser. 9 as my daily driver. ARC5 goes traveling and in rotation occasionally. Come on your looking at a Mercedes, an Audi and a Lexus, you choose! Ba'hahaha!
