Wish I had purchased this sooner! Even though I've altered it, it is a great bit of kit.
I really like this product and WWS are a great company to deal with. My only dislike was the fact that I had to turn it on at the switch and get my Silicone paper over the box before most of the static grass left the top of the box!
Having only used a static grass applicator previously I was a bit surprised at this. Plus trying to turn the switch off and getting a shock on a few occasions leads to being very careful very quickly!
I've worked with electronics for many years, so I decided to make this work a lot easier for me... I'm sure I've forfeited their warranty doing this - so I'm not suggesting you should do this! but I have included a socket that will take a non latching foot pedal (the same as a piano sustain pedal) Obviously a latching foot pedal will work but for me it makes more sense that if my foot isn't on the pedal it won't be on...
It now works perfectly for me. I turn on the box and If my foot isn't on the pedal there is no current, I put my silicone paper over the box, hit the pedal and it's done. Once my foot is off the pedal there is no current going through to the box and I can safely turn the switch off without a shock. I can even add my next layer without having to turn it off.
This small change has made it easier and more enjoyable to work with - and quicker! and certainly not as much mess to clear up between applications. Maybe this feature could be included in future models?

Wish I'd bought this sooner!
One of those tools I had my eye on for a while and kept thinking "umm... A bit pricey for a rasp!"
I kept seeing them on various videos and I still kept thinking I should buy one. Why on earth didn't I buy one sooner?
They make such light work on so many jobs that I do. One harsh side and one lighter side and they work incredibly well.
I think it's well made and even though I've used it a fair few times already you can just tell it'll last for a long time. I've mainly used this on Oak and it removes a lot of material very quickly. Flip it over for some finer removal before sanding... Brilliant.
