STRIKE KING S11 Optics Shiny Black BRISTOL Yellow POLARIZED Lens Sunglasses!

SUNRISE OR ILLUMINATOR GLASSES ON A BUDGET!
Strike King, as a bait company, certainly needs no introduction to the fishing community. A lesser known fact is that they have also been quietly developing and marketing fishing specific sunglass products for well over 25yrs. now, which are endorsed by a great many successful anglers, outside of their "captive" pro staffers, like KVD, Denny Brauer, Shaw Grigsby, etc. One of the most successful and hard to find lenses in a sunglass product is what what I am referring to here in the title as a "sunrise" or "illuminator" type lens, which is basically some tint of yellow, with either a silver or purple mirror treatment, as in the case of the Ocean Waves Illuminator. Hobie Alter successfully brought to market a series of yellow lenses which were photochromic/light level adjusting, called the "Sightmaster" over 30yrs. ago. They remain popular to this day, and like the Costa and Ocean Waves versions, are more difficult to find. Retail pricing for all of the preceeding models of glasses ranges from around $85 to well over $200 in the case of the Costa's. Who among those of us who actually have to BUY their own tackle and accessories HAS that kind of money to spend on sunglasses? First time I put these Strike King glasses on one afternoon here recently about 4PM in a secluded bay at my home lake, I was amazed at how much the overall image brightness had increased, but also the contrast. Even so, my eyes did not feel they were straining, but were fairly relaxed as I took in the surrounding shoreline and the horizon across the water of the main lake. With water levels being dropped here in the Ozarks, as if Noah is coming to prepare for the flood, emergent tree tops and boulders are a very real hazard, so the ability to spot such is important, and these glasses really perform. Only time will tell about the quality of the mirrors and other coatings on the lenses, but my common sense tells me that if one takes reasonable care of these glasses, they will last a VERY long time. Microfiber or a silk/rayon type lens cloth is a must, as the lens coatings "grab" other fabrics, making them "difficult" to clean. The Bristol is one of Strike Kings good overall wrap around frame styles, where the temples are thick enough at the hinges to serve as "side blockers," thereby increasing your visual acuity in front of you. The Rayburn and Pickwick models are a couple of others frame styles that are offered with this yellow lens with gradient mirror. Get yourself a decent hard case, and your should have everything needed to keep you on the water safely in the early morning and late afternoon hours, without breaking the bank over a name brand set of glasses. AWESOME VALUE AND PERFORMANCE.

ULTIMATE BULK SPINNER BAIT STORAGE BOX
I bought a couple of these boxes and this past winter, set about removing the packaging from all of my bulk and back up stock, removing the skirts from many which were falling apart inside the blister packs. Using each row for 1/4 and less, 3/8 and 1/2 and larger, I have my blades and wire forms ready for the skirt of my choice to either create something "new," or replace something that is or has worked in the past. I have a half of one rack filled with small buzz bait forms and heads, so this is a very versatile and accommodating box. Nice handle and strong latch, with a solid lip edge for the top to close onto. Plano does it right; get one.
Quantum Energy Baitcasting Reel Right-hand E100SPTA 6.3:1 11-bearing NIB

Awesome Baitcaster, Why Spend More?
I converted over to Quantum reels from a combination of Shimano Curado's and BPS Pro Qualifier Series reels about five years ago, and have no regrets whatsoever. These new Energy PT models with the EXO skeleton frame design to reduce weight balance on the very lightest of rods, and the spool design of this model, along with THREE levels of cast control and 11 bearings make 50yd. casts effortless. This is one of the few regular sized baitcasters on the market that will properly handle 8 and 10lb test mono with 1/8oz. weights for finesse plastics, drop shot, split shot, small Carolina(Eufaula)rig, etc. I miss the gear lube port on the main housing that was on previous year versions of this model reel, but the performance increase and versatility, even including a flippin' switch, more than outweigh this omission. Handle knobs are the perfect size, and the material wears good and is very comfortable. Quantum is/has brought out other models that hover around the $100 price point, but it is not uncommon to find these Energy models at nearly the same price, even though they have a list of $159. I own several of the Smoke models also, and other than the all aluminum frame construction, find very little if anything in performance that justifies their extra cost over the Energy. Grab one, you will love it!
