Great Value
1 of 1 found this helpful I now have (2) of these toolkits, if you buy when they are on sale you will get them for around $150 which is great value for what you get. There is a small issue where the spanners in the top section drop out when you open the kit rapidly, however for the sale price I can live with that.

Critical area where OEM part replacement pays off !!
I have no problem installing quality after market parts to my 2003 Ford Focus in non-critical areas, particularly where there are alternatives to the OEM parts that perform better and address obvious and well established failure or weak points in the original design.
However, the 3 engine mounts for the Zetec engine are one area where it pays to replace with original OEM parts. The after market parts just do not seem to last as long and I have known of instances where the hydraulic after market mounts have failed in as little as 1 year. My original OEM part lasted 10 !!
This is an original OEM part that will function correctly.

Genuine OEM part outperforms aftermaket replacements
Of all the (3) engine mounts located on the Zetec DOHC engine in a 2003 Ford Focus, this is the most important in reducing vibration and restoring the noise levels back close to new car levels. Even if the mount appears to be fine, with no obvious leaks, replacing this mount can have a huge impact on vibration levels within the vehicle.
Sometimes the only obvious sign the mount has expired is that the rubber will be compressed in length, when compared to a new replacement part. Mount life is not just based on vehicle km/miles, it can need replacing based on age as well on a low km vehicle, say if the mount is 10 years old.
ALWAYS use an OEM part for replacement of this mount, as these will achieve the maximum service life. Aftermarket replacement hydraulic mounts just do not seem to last, which is probably why they are so cheap compared to the OEM.
