Seiko does it again!
4 of 4 found this helpful I've always been a fan of Seiko watches. I received my first one as a teenager (a quartz) and it still keeps perfect time 30 yrs later. This is my 4th Seiko, and my first foray into their automatics and I must say I'm quite impressed. It keeps very accurate time (+/- only a few seconds a day) and since I've been wearing it all of my other watches have taken a back seat. The bracelet is sturdy, solid and very comfortable and the hands/markers on the face are very bright in the dark. The crystal seems very durable (I'm hard on watches, trust me) and it looks great dressed up or down. Plus, the exhibition back is a really cool feature (for true watch enthusiasts like myself). The only drawback I've found is winding/setting it, as the movement isn't as smooth as I would like it to be. But since I wear it everyday it keeps a good power reserve and I only have to fuss with it on non 31-day months.
As homage watches go, I like the marriage of the GMT and Submariner styles, while still maintaining its own identity. All in all, this is a well crafted watch for not a lot of money (as watches go). If you're looking for a classic diver's watch with all the quality, craftsmanship and panache of one that's 60x the price or more, this is the watch for you. If you're on the fence, I'd say pull the trigger...you won't be disappointed.
