Be prepared to like this amp!
0 of 1 found this helpful Let me start off by saying that I usually install high-priced, "near top of the line" amps in my car, mostly because I'm more interested in SQ than SPL. But, I dedcided to install the HTG447, just to see what it would sound like, and perform like. So, I removed my Cerwin Vega Stroker V9600.4D (150w/ch RMS @ 4ohms). Well, I can honestly say that I like the 447, just as much if not better than the $350 Cerwin. First off, the 447 is powerful, there's no doubt about it. It drives my 4-sets of Kappa 6.5 components with ease, and to deafening levels. All with clarity, precision, and depth. It's not quite as articulate as the Cerwin Vega, but it is definitely smoother. The Cerwin had a more artificial sound (as in transister-y and digital sounding), The 447 has a sound closer to tube amp -as in more natural, warmer. The highs are still crisp, though not quite as crisp as the class D. My ears are thanking me though. And my ears are the the final judge here, not my bias, because I like and appreciate both sounds. Well, after much listening, I've decided to keep the 447 in my car - I guess that says it all! Buy it....just don't drive subs with it (it's not really made for that, and it can overheat when driven real hard with subs). Stick to that rule, and I promise you'll appreciate this amp as much as I do.

Pyle is a pile!
This Integrated Amplifier hisses and buzzes so loudly at idle, it makes it annoying and completely unusable. The only time you can't hear it hissing at you is when the volume is turned WAY up. It looks good, but looks are deceiving. AVOID THIS PIECE (Pyle) of shXX..., and buy or bid on a real amplifier...like a Sony, Yamaha, Onkyo, Marantz...anything Japanese...but not this!

Great amp at any price!
4 of 4 found this helpful This 1604 amp sounds great....very clean, clear, and articulate. It's a surprisingly decent amplifier, regardless of price! It has enough power to drive my 4-sets of 6.5 components to very loud levels with very little distortion or coloration. I've owned lots of amplifiers over the years, and I have to admit this works and sounds way better than expected. You should have no concerns about buying this one!!
