Pretty cool quasi office mfp!
This is a multifunction unit with a few positive features and some not so positive. As for the good, the print function was fast -- 30 ppm as advertised. However the scan function was disappointingly slow. Furthermore, due to the compact size of the unit, only landscape scans were possible, making it necessary to rotate the scanned image to portrait using software later on. Also, note that the flatbed glass is only 8 1/2 by 11, so to scan legal you need to use the document feeder.
The other good feature was price; this is as close to a full blown expensive office copier that you can get at only a little more than a personal printer price.
My unit shipped with out-of-date drivers -- I had to go online to get Windows 7 drivers, which, along with really bad setup instructions, made the setup process more difficult and time consuming. However, the whole process was still better and simpler than it was just a few years ago when multifunction office scanner/copiers were just coming into popularity, so everything is relative.
So far I have not had to deal with toner replacement, but here's hoping that the toner will not be ridiculously expensive. If it is, then I hope that the cartridges can be refilled without major surgery. Note that the toner cartridge contains a printer circuit chip which may have to be replaced along with toner itself if you refill.
Overall I give the machine thumbs sloping up, but not straight up! Maybe that's about 4 1/2 stars out of five!
